Every year more and more companies are forced to carry out upgrading of their thermal generating units in order to significantly reduce the cost of gas, electricity or solid fuel, as well as to achieve greater efficiency and durability. The Inventum Ukraine conducts a full range of works concerning upgrading of thermal equipment, applying advanced technologies and refractory materials.
Having received the technical task for a major overhaul of the bogie hearth furnace, our specialists have started to develop design documentation, and then, to supply materials and equipment for the furnace. Dismounting was the next stage of the furnace overhaul. The old base coat of the lining was made of refractory bricks, which was partially destroyed and did not fully perform its functions. Refractory modular blocks based on ceramic fiber were used as the base coat of the lining. Thermal properties of these modular units are vastly superior to the old lining.
The metal structures of the furnace were improved and brought to the state required for the installation of the modules, the new heating system and the rest of the equipment. The existing nichrome strip heaters were replaced with specific cable heaters using resist 145, made in France. The furnace control unit was also installed and the upgrading of the hearth and the furnace dumpers was made. In order to protect the bottom heaters the silicon carbide plates were used as the hearth of the furnace.
Through the application of advanced refractory materials, equipment and technical solutions in the overhaul of the bogie hearth furnace, its upgrading has been achieved.
